Adriano

Educator

Born in Umbria in the heart of Italy, Adriano’s father was a barber, so he grew up surrounded by combs, scissors, electric buzzers and straight razors. These became his toys, so at the age of 13 he was already playing around with his friends’ hair. He moved to London in his early twenties and retrained at the Radio academy. 

After finishing his training he became a part of the salon’s artistic and education teams, helping to build a strong clientele in the process.

Ariano is now head of Radio Education and divides his time between teaching, working on editorial projects and salon collections and cutting on the salon floor where he has built a loyal clientele. With over 13 years of experience, he specialises in cutting and styling hair. Alongside Radio he is also co founder of the ALC online hairdressing digital academy.

“I focus primarily on simplifying the craft of hair design, finding a balance between the core elements: effortless beauty, practicality and style. The fashion world has been a significant source of inspiration for my work. Editorial work in particular has helped me to picture hair in different forms and contexts. 

The focus in my editorial work is on the aesthetic value, transforming imperfection into a kind of poetic licence. This creates space for experimentation and enjoyment, ultimately allowing for the greatest creative freedom”
